In today’s world, the possibility of a nuclear war is a frightening reality. With countries like Russia and China increasing their nuclear capabilities, it is important to consider the question of where the safest place to be in Tennessee would be in the event of a nuclear war.
In this article, we will explore some of the factors to consider when seeking shelter from a nuclear war, as well as the most likely cities and towns to be targeted in such an event.
Factors to Consider in Seeking Shelter from a Nuclear War
There are several factors to consider when seeking shelter from a nuclear war. The first and most obvious consideration is the distance from potential targets.
Cities and towns that are closer to military bases or other strategic targets are more likely to be hit in the event of a nuclear war.
The farther away you are from these targets, the better your chances of survival.
Another factor to consider is the terrain. Mountains and hills can provide natural shelter from nuclear fallout, as they can absorb some of the initial blast and radiation.
Underground shelters and bunkers are also ideal, as they can shield you from the immediate effects of a nuclear blast and the radiation that follows.
Prevailing winds are also a crucial factor to consider, as fallout can be carried by the wind for hundreds of miles. Being upwind of potential targets or fallout zones can significantly reduce your exposure to radiation.
Likely Tennessee Cities and Towns to Be Targeted in a Nuclear War with Russia and China
In the event of a nuclear war with Russia and China, it is likely that major cities and military installations would be the primary targets. Cities with large populations, significant military presence, and strategic importance would be the most likely targets.
The most likely targets in Tennessee would be the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Arnold Engineering Development Complex in Tullahoma, and the Fort Campbell military base. Major cities like Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville would also be high on the list of potential targets.
While it’s impossible to predict exactly where a nuclear attack would occur, these targets provide a general idea of where a nuclear strike could be aimed.
10 Things to Do to Prepare for a Nuclear War
Preparing for a nuclear war is a daunting task, but there are several things you can do to increase your chances of survival.
- Educate yourself on the dangers of nuclear war and the best ways to protect yourself.
- Create an emergency plan that includes a designated shelter, a stockpile of supplies, and an evacuation route if necessary.
- Invest in a radiation detector to monitor radiation levels in your area.
- Purchase a supply of non-perishable food and bottled water that can last for at least several weeks.
- Stock up on essential medical supplies, including first aid kits, prescription medications, and any other necessary medical equipment.
- Consider investing in a gas mask or other protective equipment to reduce your exposure to radiation.
- Choose a shelter location that is upwind of potential targets, ideally in a rural area or underground bunker.
- Consider creating a community of preppers to share resources and knowledge in the event of a nuclear war.
- Plan for communication with loved ones, even if phone lines and internet access are down.
- Stay informed about potential threats and any developments in nuclear weapons technology.
Conclusion
In the event of a nuclear war, no location can be considered completely safe. However, by considering the factors mentioned above and taking steps to prepare for the worst-case scenario, you can increase your chances of survival.
Whether you choose to seek shelter in an underground bunker, a rural area, or simply stockpile supplies and prepare an emergency plan, taking action now can help protect you and your loved ones in the event of a nuclear war.
M.D What your article showed and explained was the reason why we left FL. months ago due to tremendous population increase and more vulnerable to an attack.. now we are in a mountain area in east TN. surrounded by mountains away from any large cities.
Your advice is right on target so we took your advice and many other ones too.
Not everyone can move as we did but IF people can do so….do it!
I’m thinking of doing the same. I’m a single older female so I’ll be getting 2-4 dogs.
I’m just wondering what you will be feeding your dogs?
MD, I’m no expert on TN terrain but I’d vote for The Chimneys in the SMNF. You’d have alot of cover & mass in those rock formations at the top & if you got there first it’d take air power to dislodge you.
Where is the safest place to be in TENNESEE YOU ASK during WWW3 ? WHERE THE BOMB ISN’T DROPEN THATS WHERE!
Cumberland mountains MD that’s where you need to go. Deep in the mountains
There is no safe place. If these buts provoke a nuclear war you can expect most of the Northern Hemisphere to be wiped out. I have relocated to Panama and perhaps to Argentina if it looks like the war in about to break out. I get a lot of help form the people at nukerefuge. com
I didn’t say that there was a “safe” place. I said safest big difference.
In your basement of course. You need to set a few paper plates down on your floor and wait a couple days and see how much dust covers them then patch up leaks and repeat. You will want to stay in the closet to center of room and wait at least 3 weeks before venturing outdoors. Then make your way furthest away from the blast area in the opposite direction of the wind or jet streams in your area. If you need water and have to drink local water source take from the middle of the water source.
I saw a video that our Government purposely put nuclear warheads away from the cities, so that if there was a strike, less people would be killed.
However, with the Depopulation Agenda, I think they will purposely be hitting big cities.
Nowhere is safe. But for now, get away from any factories and refineries.
Thank you brother!
I made my move over a year ago to north Idaho, I’m not in town and in the mountains. Very glad I did .
I really don’t think we will see a nuclear war not yet anyway. I am not saying it that its not possible but there is no winner everyone loses and they all know this. Once a country uses a nuke everything will change and people will forever be pointing them and threatening to use them and it will never be safe again. It’s the end people will not have children anymore at least the smart ones nobody will work(why what’s the point when they can blow whatever you work hard for up the next day). On top of that every country will be your enemy because it will cripple the world in so many ways even rich people will lose there wealth in money gold assets because there is no poor to profit from anymore. Now once the next generation after the boomers and Gen X are gone from this world man…..the millennials and zoomers now they I believe would definitely use them on one another. You ever seen the movie Idiocracy? Yeah……that’s very eerie interpretation of what seems like what’s to come……just my opinion. It’s ok I am no expert or psychologist I understand and accept if you don’t agree with me that’s why I said my opinion. Stay safe everyone….oh and love you all… take care of one another 🙏
I honestly don’t believe there is a safe place to be in case there was a nuclear disaster. Caves would be best bet HOWEVER, you have to worry about bears in Southeastern Tennessee. Unless you can by chance go and clear the bears out and whatever else maybe in there then seal it up until you need it. Or if you aren’t claustrophobic then you could buy a couple cargo/shipping containers then reinforce them and bury them 20 feet underground as I’ve been told. But that just doesn’t seem like something that should be done. People really need to think solely about how the Bible tells us not to have that kind of fear. It says if we love our lives, we will lose them. But if we hate our lives then we will gain them.
There will be a lot of rich people loving their lives hiding in caves and mountains, begging for the mountains to cave I’m to hide them from God. But no man or woman can hide from God. No matter what they try. We are All going to face our Heavenly Father upon Judgement Day. But I will just have to accept whatever happens, I’m Autistic but I have Military experience and experience in a lot of other areas as well. I don’t love my life by far but still have fears like not breathing to die, so I would probably sneak to live and blend in as much as I can so I’m not spotted by human eyes, in the woods. Im not wanting to hide from God, but definitely hide from mankind…
Kill the bear and preserve it in jerky form. Clean and keep the hides.
I don’t live in Tennessee , nor am I close to your state.
You are correct when you say prep for possible nuke war. The only issue I see in your assumption is that you are forgetting about the current events facing the country . Russia announced they are withdrawing from START , while almost immediately China sends an Envoy to Russia. Russia has the most Nukes while China has the most BIOlabs. If Russia and China forms an alliance its GAME OVER for the US. When war is declared we have only 20 minutes to retreat to our Safe Locations and pray. For if we can survive nukes can we survive lethal bioweapons ?
Why do you assume that I’m “forgetting” current events? This is a current threat and I talk about current events all of the time.
M.D. glad to see you are getting the info out.
I don’t see pdd-60 mentioned. Absorb first strike. I think that is an important factor to be aware of.
Has anyone done any research on earth disaster cycle, sun micro-nova, pole inversion, crust slip, etc. ? What height above sea level are you using as marker?
I’m really worried about nuclear reactor meltdowns. The gift that keeps on giving.
