Video Gear and Services

Welcome to the Video Gear and Services page! Here, you’ll find a comprehensive list of the equipment and services I use to create my YouTube videos. From cameras and microphones to editing software and lighting, each item has been carefully selected to ensure the highest quality content for my viewers.

Whether you’re a fellow content creator looking for recommendations or just curious about the tools behind the scenes, this guide provides insights into the gear that helps bring my videos to life. Explore the list and discover the essentials that power my YouTube channel!

Why I Use These Items

Since I first started my YouTube channel, I’ve tried a lot of different cameras and gear. To me, a lot of it was just too difficult and complicated to use. I like simple things—things that I can pick up, press the button, and it works automatically. The gear and software below reflect that preference while still getting the job done.

Video Gear and Equipment

The camera that I use depends on the type of video that I’m making, which is why I have several different types of cameras in my camera bag.

My main camera is the Sony ZV-1. It’s small, easy to use, and works great in auto mode.

The shotgun microphone that I use is the Sony ECM-G1. It’s small, uses the hot shoe on the ZV-1, and all settings are taken care of by the camera and microphone for perfect audio every time.

A wireless microphone is great for when you need to be further from the camera or when moving around a lot and still need good quality audio. The wireless microphone that I use is the RODE Wireless ME. It’s super simple to use with only a few settings and is made to use in auto mode.

The Sony ZV-1 is best when on a tripod; however, in a lot of my videos, I’m walking around talking or showing stuff. For that, I use the DJI Action 4. It’s small, lightweight, has a wide field of view, and excellent image stabilization. It might be the best vlogging camera available… it’s certainly the best that I’ve used.

When it comes to my desk setup, I use the Shure MV7 USB Microphone for audio and the Elgato Facecam Pro webcam.

Other Film Equipment

The tripod I use is the Manfrotto Befree (I also have this version). This is a well-made tripod that will last longer than I will. It’s kind of expensive, but it’s the kind of thing that you buy only once.

When I’m filming at my desk and showing my computer screen, the lights that are lighting me are the Godox ES45 Key Light. I have two of these: one slightly to my left and the other over to my right side as a fill light.

Computer Equipment

I use a PC (I know, right)—an HP 2023 Victus 15L Gaming Desktop PC to be exact. It’s a good computer so far and works well when editing my videos.

I also use an LG UltraWide Monitor, so that I can see what I’m doing, since my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be when reading text and editing videos.
